Continue on to STEP 4A —
STEP 4A – Toe, First Section
Begin at needle 13, continue counterclockwise
First, the decreases:
1. Continue to past needle 13 and stop where needle 19 is level. Loop goes over needle 18 (pulling from 16/17).
Marker goes on #18.
2. Reverse and stop where 7 is level. Loop goes over needle 8 (pulling from 9/10). Marker goes on #8
3. Reverse and stop where needle 18 is level. Loop goes over needle 17 (pulling from 15/16).
Marker goes on #17.
4. Reverse and stop where needle 8 is level. Loop goes over needle 9 (pulling from 10/11). Marker goes on #9.
5. Reverse and stop where needle 17 is level. Loop over needle 16 (pulling from 14/15).
Marker goes on #16.
6. Reverse and stop where needle 9 is level. Loop over needle 10 (pulling from 11/12). Marker goes on #10.
Work two rounds ending on needle 13
STEP 4B – Toe, Second Section
Then, the increases:
1. Continue and stop where needle 17 is level. Loop over needle 16 (pulling from 14/15).
Marker goes on #16.
2. Reverse and stop where needle 9 is level. Loop over needle 10 (pulling from 11/12). Marker goes on #10.
3. Reverse and stop where needle 18 is level. Loop over needle 17 (puling from 15/16).
Marker goes on #17.
4. Reverse and stop where needle 8 is level. Loop over needle 9 (pulling from 10/11). Marker goes on #9.
5. Reverse and stop where needle 19 is level. Loop over needle 18 (pulling from 16/17).
Marker goes on #18.
6. Reverse and stop where needle 7 is level. Loop over needle 8 (pulling from 9/10). Marker goes on #8.
Reverse back to needle 13 work one more round, then go past “three or rather five marked stitches” (confused message from Sylvie Rasch)
to one stitch past the last marked stitch (which is needle 18) to needle 19.
Last sock yarn goes around needle 18; waste yarn begins on needle 19.
Crank 10-12 rounds of waste yarn.
STEP 5 – Finishing
Finish by turning sock inside out, and seaming per Diana Sullivan’s Invisibly Grafting, or with preferred method.
